Michael Tcheyan has
been passionately involved with the arts for all
his adult life. He was awarded a full scholarship
to the NY Studio School of Painting and Drawing (where
he studied with Philip Guston among other great artists)
and Skowhegan Art School. Michael then went on to
get a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. He
has served as a Director and Board Member of The
Artists' Choice Museum and was also a Board Member
of the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. Michael
has been Co-Chair and currently serves as a member
of the Mayor's Partnership for the Arts in his hometown
of Summit where he has been the curator for the Summit
Public Art Program since its inception 5 years ago.
Michael has also curated three shows of "Art
in the Garden" at the
Reeves Reed Arboretum and a retrospective of artist
Stanley Lewis for the Visual Arts Center.
